Hands down my most favorite city in the whole wide world! The music, the people, the food, did I mention the music?! If you are a music lover you must check out Nashville. Walking down Broadway you can hear live music drifting out of every dive bar and honky tonk with people singing and dancing down the street. I especially loved seeing the tractors pulling a trailer full of people blasting music and singing at the top of their lungs. Everyone has a good time in Nashville! Chad and I were in Nashville on this very day last year and I so wish we were back there now. This blog post will be mostly about our trip: where we stayed, where we ate and what we did, but it will also be about places that I hope to visit one day when we go back.

We stayed at the Moxy hotel and we absolutely loved being in the center of all the action. Our room was a short walk to the Johnny Cash Museum, The Luke Bryan Bar and next door to Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk. We were also just one block away from Lower Broadway where all of the action is. This hotel was the cutest, with modern decor and vintage country memorabilia scattered throughout. In the lobby has a stage with a live singer most of the day (except first thing in the morning) a bar *first drinks on them* an open and inviting concept with couches, swings, tables with board games, and cozy chairs. Chad and I spent a good amount of time just hanging in the lobby listening to music and enjoying a few drinks.
The Honky Tonks were the highlight of the trip in my opinion. Every single singer and band that played sounded amazing and the vibe was laid back and fun. I saw such a range of ages in each establishment and everyone was welcome. I saw bachelorette parties, old couples, young couples, people who were dressed up, and people who were causal. It didn’t matter who you were or what you looked like, everyone was there for the same reason: to have a good time. First, Chad and I went into a hole in the wall Honky Tonk bar called Whiskey Bent and enjoyed a few drinks while listening to some music. We also spent time in Honky Tonk Central, Tootsies, and the Kid Rock Bar. I think what amazed me the most with Lower Broadway was that every musician was such a professional. They would take requests and often have to look up the words to the songs on their phones, but would still sound like something you would hear on the radio. We didn’t just hear country music either, it was a range from Southern rock, pop country, 80’s rock, oldies and I even heard some “California Love” thrown in the mix.
I was looking forward to eating true southern food and Nashville did not disappoint. We had dinner at Ole Red’s and the food was so delicious! We sat on the top floor and I especially loved the view of the stage and people dancing as we were eating. I would often jump up out of my chair with my drink in hand to dance and sing along to my favorite songs. I will definitely come back to Ole Red’s again.
Our second day in Nashville was only half a day and Chad and I drove around and saw a few sights. All around Nashville you will see murals painted on buildings and it was so much fun to search for them around town. Here is one of the most famous ones and I just had to get a picture in front of the Nashville Wings.

We also went to the country music hall of fame and really enjoyed looking at the history of country music and how it has evolved over the years. This is a must see attraction if you are ever in Nashville and are a country music lover.

Our time in Nashville was very short and I can’t wait to go back! When we do visit again I will definitely stay at the Moxy Hotel and visit Lower Broadway, but I also want to explore the Gulch, Bluebird Cafe, the Ryman Auditorium, and the rooftop at Jason Aldean’s bar. We will be back Nashville and I can’t wait for the day when I am walking in my cowboy boots up and down Broadway!
